Response to Poem: "Edward Hopper and the House by the Railroad" by Edward Hirsch

I like this poem. I espeically like the first stanza, it made me giggle. So perfectly descriptive, almost like a children's fairytale. Even though there is not a repeating word to be heard, I hear a list poem. A list of descriptions first of the house and then of the artist who painted the house.

What wonderful insight it has. I've known the name Edward Hopper for quite some time, but never pursued his works. The writer's description within this poem of Hopper's art having much the same tone, makes me want to see for myself.
